Do you dare to leave your COMFORT ZONE? Since stepping into the UNKNOWN is FEARFUL
Step into Unknown and step out of your comfort zone.
One fine day, I got an opportunity to work on a new thing. I got a chance to work on a new task that I have never done before. My first reaction was WHERE DO I HAVE TIME TO DO THAT? and I left that thought. The next day, while sitting alone and thinking, I again got thought of a very rejected opportunity. I thought for a second. Wait! Why did I say NO to it? Is it really because I did not have time? or do I fear stepping into the unknown?
I realized it's a fear of doing new things that are never done by me before. My fear was: I don't know how much time of mine it will take. I don't know, will I be able to do it in the given timeline. I don't know If I have to sacrifice my weekend over it. I don't know if it become a routine activity for me and I stop t enjoying it after a first or second try. So many questions filled my mind. So instead of thinking properly through it, I chose to reject it.
I realized that I love my daily routine very much. I love to do the same things over and over again for years. I do get bored of it, but for that weekend come to my rescue. A long term change in my routine makes me start to miss my routine and I want that routine back in my life. But then, I realized, if I love my routine so much then I never get a chance to accept new things or learn new things. So I thought to give it a chance, so I said YES to that opportunity.
It is only when we challenge ourselves to do new things we learn something new valuable. We all have fear of stepping into the unknown, but that fear should not be an excuse to not try new things. The fear will be there we can't deny. But with fear, we can develop habits to overcome that fear too. Once you learn to overcome your fears and come out of your comfort zone, you will be surprised to see your own capabilities. It is like you are seeing NEW YOU.
To become a new me, or in hoping to learn something new, I said YES to the new opportunities. After that, I only found positive points in working towards that task. Hope you get a chance to leave your comfort zone and get the courage to step into the unknown, to be able to see new YOU with new capabilities.
