Do you have ever got a thought about what is the worth of your 1 hour?

No, I am not talking about how much is your wages for 1 hour, or how much you are currently earning per hour. This is a whole together different thing.

As per the book The Almanack Of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness, you must assign monitorial value to your hour and keep this value on the higher side. (Like, assume your 1 hour is worth Rs 5000). This way you will refrain from wasting your time and redirect yourself to something productive for yourself, like reading, learning something new, doing some courses. These activities that you will do are not going to give you a result soon. But all these productive hours combined over a period of 6 months or 1 year or more than that will give you a great result.

Say for example, in a day you get 1 free hour, you have many possibilities on how you choose to spend it. One, you can spend it to get something, from other parts of the city which can take full 1 hour or more than that but help you save your few bucks. Second, you spend it surfing social media. Third, if you have skill and capabilities (I truly believe everyone is gifted with some of the other skills, it is just that you have to figure out what you are good at), you can choose to spend this one hour doing the things that are worth your time and in long run will give you a great return on this.

To me, this is very important where am I spending my time. Since time is the only thing that I or any other person can have and chose to spend the way you want it to. The time gone never will come back. If you chose to spend it wisely on things regarding your skills, it will give you great returns in future.

As being mother and homemaker, I usually get very little time every day to write. Being aware of this, I spend it wisely. I have made some changes in my routine to use my time effectively. Instead of getting my groceries by myself, I chose to order them online, which will save a lot of time, that I utilize in my writing. I don't spend much time daily on social media. Unnecessary perfection on tasks(whether it is household, or any other task) will occupy so much time. So I try not to go for one.

An hour saved by not doing such tasks(that are not going to give me any return), I use it to write any blog post on my blog that will generate traffic in future, I consider writing on Medium which will help me increase my reader base, or I might be creating videos for my youtube channel.

Conclusion: Value your time. The time that is gone, you are not going to get it back. Make wiser choices on how you chose to spend your time on a daily basis.
